Make It Straight · Effective 15 August 2026

Make It Straight has no ads, no analytics, and no third-party tracking of any kind. You can play the entire game without an account, and if you never create one, nothing about you leaves your device.

This policy explains the rest. It covers the Make It Straight mobile app on iOS and Android, published by Tyler Blouin, operating as Narrowline ("we", "us"). Tyler Blouin is the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR.

The short version

What we collect, and only if you sign in

If you play without creating an account, we collect nothing. Your progress, settings and helper counts are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted.

If you choose to create an account or sign in, the following is stored on our backend:

DataWhy
Email address To identify your account and let you sign back in. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only ever receive Apple's private relay address.
Username The name shown next to your score on the leaderboard. You choose it. It does not have to be your real name, and we recommend it isn't.
Account identifier A random ID generated by our authentication provider that links your progress to your account.
Gameplay data Your best score, the level and difficulty you reached, how far you have unlocked, and how many Freeze, Nudge and Ghost helpers you hold. This is what makes progress sync across devices.

That is the complete list. We do not collect your name, phone number, contacts, photos, location, device identifiers, advertising ID, IP-based profile, or any biometric or health data.

The leaderboard is public

If you post a score, your chosen username and your score, level and difficulty are visible to every other player in the app. Your email address is never shown to other players. Pick a username you are comfortable being public.

Purchases

Make It Straight offers one optional in-app purchase, the Helper Pack. Payment is handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or receive your payment details — no card number, no billing address, no name on card. Once a purchase completes, the only thing recorded on our side is the resulting number of helpers on your account, which is ordinary game state.

Who processes data for us

We use a single service provider:

Supabase — hosts our database and handles sign-in. Supabase stores the data listed above on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes. See supabase.com/privacy.

If you sign in with Apple or Google, that provider authenticates you and tells us your email address (or Apple's relay address) and nothing more. Their handling of that sign-in is governed by their own privacy policies.

Apart from these, no other company receives your data. There is no ad network, no analytics vendor, no data broker.

How long we keep it

Account and progress data is kept for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and it is removed — see below. We keep no backup copy of deleted accounts beyond our provider's routine encrypted backups, which age out within 30 days.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or the CCPA/CPRA — including access, correction, deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We honour these requests from everyone, regardless of location. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it, so there is nothing to opt out of. Where the GDPR applies, our legal basis is performance of a contract with you (providing an account and syncing progress) and, for the leaderboard, your consent given by choosing to post a score.

Children

Make It Straight is rated for ages 4 and up because the gameplay contains nothing objectionable. The game is fully playable without an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it promptly.

Where data is stored

Our database is hosted in the United States. If you use the app from outside the United States, the limited data described above is transferred there. Where required, these transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and encrypted at rest by our provider. Access to the production database is restricted to the developer. No system is perfectly secure, but there is deliberately very little here to lose.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date above and post a notice in the app before the change takes effect.

Contact

Questions, requests, or anything else about this policy: hello@narrowline.co. We aim to respond within a few business days, and within 30 days at the outside for formal data requests.
